About SMC Connect
SMC Connect is a project of the San Mateo County Human Services Agency (HSA). Our project mission is to help residents of San Mateo County find and navigate community resources more easily. By bringing together local information in one place, we aim to connect children, adults, and families to the support and services they need.
How it Works
SMC Connect is powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology that makes it easier to search for services and programs in our community. The website uses information from:
- The San Mateo County Community Information Handbook (updated annually)
- Local organization and agency websites
- Other resource materials (i.e. program flyers, resource guides)
This information is curated to help residents quickly identify resources that may be useful to them.
Important to Know
While SMC Connect is designed to make searching easier, it is not a substitute for human connection or professional guidance. AI tools can occasionally make mistakes or provide incomplete information.
